Aug. 3 @ the Copper State Tavern - Glendale, AZ

So we strolled out of Hell Paso and headed to the Phoenix, Arizona area.....specifically the west side, known as Glendale. Now, when i was in Games and Theory, we definitely hit the Phoenix area a few times.....and i never really dug it much. It's hot as fuck, somewhat depressing, lots of dirt, hot as fuck....oh wait, i said that already! IT'S HOT AS FUCK! yeah, yeah, yeah.....WAH-WAH right...? But, no kidding...it's hard to breathe here during the summer in the daytime.

Anyway, so we dealt with the heat and then the sun came down......nice!
We headed over the Copper State Tavern.

So, this place was definitely interesting.......not necessarily in a good way. We found out we were the only band playing.....and that we were playing to like 7 people....that's bar staff included. After some sound issues with the banjo (not our fault, the sound guys don't really know what to do with it) we began our set. It was fun to play.....and our two biggest fans i think were cast members of the movie Gummo. Dave, the owner of the place, that's right 3 Daves in the place now, offered us free pitchers of beer.....which was a choice of Bud, Bud light, or Coors light. We decided to take a chance with Budweiser, which i'm sure neither of us has had in years..........after half a glass i remembered why. After the show we managed to sell a cd and quickly decided we should jet. So we hit up an Irish pub for last call and i drank Blue Moons while Dave enjoyed some scotch on the rocks. We ran into a guy that fancied himself a comedian, talked to the bartender a lot.....who was probably the only guy we met that night that had an IQ higher than 50. Although, Dave the copper state owner was definitely in command over at his place......it was a funny group to be in charge of. After the bar, we checked into our hotel and called it a night.
