Aug. 4 @ Cafe Muse - Hollywood, CA

So it was wonderful to cross in California, roll down the windows and feel a very cool breeze. I love crossing state lines and feeling the temperature change. Oh yeah, on the way we randomly stumbled upon the General Patton Museum. So we stopped and grabbed some food at the gas station next to it and strolled in to take some photos of tanks in the desert. Silly, silly! After hitting L.A., we made our way to Santa Monica Blvd and our venue for the night-Cafe Muse. It's a cool little place and Crystal, the owner, is really sweet. This ended up being a really intimate cafe. So we didn't even run through the p.a. and also sat down to play, which we don't do very often. I fell in love with the super slow version of "Sometimes the Hurricanes Don't Stop" that we played last night. Good times..........

We played for tips and met some really cool lesbians from Dallas that had recently moved to L.A. They got a kick out of "These Trees" and were really nice. Since it was so intimate in there, we just kept taking breaks between songs to learn more about and talk to them. All in all.....a good time. We heard from our friend Roger Snead, who offered to put us up for the night in Santa Barbara. We decided to do that while trying to keep in Sneady in his hood. Actually, this turned out to be really good with us. Roger is a good friend that we hadn't seen for a while. I love friends...........he had a huge bowl of pasta ready for each of us and greeted us with hugs, love, excitement, and a 12 pack of Beck's. Since the ocean is a short walk away, we strolled out to it at about 1 a.m. and listened to the waves and caught up. So good to see Roger. We're chilling in his crib as i type this. Our plan is to shower, hit the beach for a sec, then make the trek over to Long Beach for the show tonight. We'll be playing the Blue Cafe, which just had a private party for Snoop Dogg and The Dogg Pound Family. The fuckin' LBC! ha! more to come......and at some point i need to pick up 9 volts and a damn usb adapter for my camera so that i can start uploading some freakin' pics........adios for now.

  1. You get a gal's bones a jumpin' for the open road! I'm glad it's all going so well, and that you're spending time with fantastic people- newfound and old- and spreading the music love. Keep it up and keep writing!
