Aug. 5 - Long Beach, CA @ The Blue Cafe

PhotobucketAfter keeping it Sneady all night long, Dave and I managed to get some really good rest. We spooned in bed all night long as we were sharing the futon in Roger Snead's living room. I love that little boy so much.....most definitely took care of us. Roger knows a lot about film......a human database......so we saw a couple of flicks.....checked our email, did a little promotional work......(a few days ago i had a hilarious phone interview with the Amarillo Globe News....we'll shall see how that turns out later in the tour).....Dave went to the beach. I slept a little more.....got up and showered......ate some Sneady snacks.....mine consisted of cheese and chicken breast sandwich. I also took in some fruit-bananas and plums with some apple butter. Yummy! Yummy!

After our lovely "chillin" experience, we left Snead Manor and headed to the LBC to play the Blue Cafe in Long Beach. Apparently a few days before, they had a private party for the Dogg Pound. "Snoop Da Loop!".....

We got to the venue and unloaded........all that good stuff. Talked to Chris the promoter.....which is a really cool cat that lived in Austin for quite some time. We had some good conversation. After loading in, we headed out to the Rock Bottom Brewery for 1/2 off appetizers and beers you can't get anywhere else.....i love brewerys. I had the best red ale i've ever had! mmmmmmmm

After stuffing out faces and sharing the largest plate of nachos i've ever seen, we headed to the stage. It was kind of a slow night at the bar, but we had a great time playing. Really kick ass sound system and awesome stage. Some nu-metalish band played after us. Couldn't really figure them out.....sounded like they were Rage sometimes and other times sounded like they were trying to do weaker Glassjaw with AT the Drive-In. All in all a good night.....

We left the Blue Cafe, picked up some Stella and some Sierra Nevada so that we could head to Sneady's. And that's what we did...we headed up to Santa Barbara again for one of our last tastes of the Snead. We hooked the household up with Unwed Fathers wifebeaters, cds, and t-shirts.

In the morning Roger made us breakfast which cosisted or a bagel, coffee, eggs, feta, and chicken breast. Very tasty! new recipe!

So, we left shortly after that.....and began heading to the Bay Area.

We're in San Fran now.......just passed the cementary that's in Harold and Maude! We play the Black Cat in Penngrove tonight and will hook up with Dave's friend Pat for lodging and good times. We're doing great with that so far. Great places to stay every night and showers every day. Hi-Five!
