Sooooooooooooo, Portland was sort of an off night. Although we had some good brews and some great nachos, the night didn't really turn out as expected. There was a large crowd in this place when the night started. However, the 2 acts that played before us took care of that for us. They played super long sets and by the time we came on, lots of the crowed had thinned out. However, we still had fun....met a cool cat from Eugene and made some tip money......enough to get us to the next town. Nothing super extraordinary happening on this night. We showed up, played a bit and then looked for a hotel. This ended up being the most annoying part of the night. We ended up being sent to a couple of hotels that were already booked, which wasted our time. Third time was a charm and we slept in really comfy beds. We got some good rest, that's for sure.
Unwed Fathers was established in 2007 and is currently based in Austin, TX. Founded by vocalist/guitarist David Olvera (ex-Games and Theory), the singer songwriter project started with a voice and an acoustic guitar. Later other musician friends joined in to help round out the sound. Unwed Fathers performs every first Friday at Thunderbird Coffee on Manor Rd in Austin.
