So we headed out from Santa Barbara after another night with Sneady-D! We love that boy.....it was hard to say goodbye. We made a quick jaunt over to the bay area before hitting Penngrove, Ca. On the way to the venue we pooled over for a free air show-compliments of the Blue Angels. It had been a long time since i'd seen them in action. They were practicing their acrobatics along the highway.......where we stopped to get buzzed by them. Definitely worth it......great airshow.....got some cool pics and video footage. I also pissed in an empty plastic bottle of tea. "Now that's brisk!"
After our little airshow stop, we made our way over to the Black Cat where Dave's long time friend Pat came out to meet us. The place was pretty small, but we made a little money and were tipped nicely by one of the kitchen workers.....she threw a little green in their for the road. Too bad she ran off so quickly. I would have liked to thank her in person, instead of just in between songs.
A cute little gay couple really like us......we had fun. After that we headed out to Pat's, where we were crashing. It was definitely nice to finally meet him and we were very grateful to have a place to crash.
The night ended up with Dave and I being slightly faded and drinking beers sitting on swings in a park next to Pat's. Pacifico for me! Yay!
Unwed Fathers was established in 2007 and is currently based in Austin, TX. Founded by vocalist/guitarist David Olvera (ex-Games and Theory), the singer songwriter project started with a voice and an acoustic guitar. Later other musician friends joined in to help round out the sound. Unwed Fathers performs every first Friday at Thunderbird Coffee on Manor Rd in Austin.
